Bible Infusion -- Luke 24 - 1 - 6 -- But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. And it happened that while they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly stood near them in dazzling apparel; and the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living One among the dead? He is not here, but He has risen."
The students enjoyed a variety of science centers including "Properties of Peeps." Here they explored the properties of Peeps marshmalllow chicks, and they observed them with their senses of sight, touch and taste. Students also made observations and comparisons about size and composition.
In "Peeps Plunge," students observed the effects that six different liquids had on Peeps chicks. We compared changes in the peeps when put into water, lemon juice, white vinegar, cola, liquid laundry detergent and rubbing alcohol. Students really were "grossed out" by the cola peep! It was pretty disgusting!
With the "Little Bunny Goo-Goo" center, students compared real farm eggs with chocolate eggs. They learned that chickens lay a variety of colored eggs based on the DNA of the chicken. We also learned that real egg yokes solidify when heated, and chocolate eggs melt.
Isaac Newton, force and motion were reviewed in a comical activity, "Rollin' Rollin' Easter Eggs!"
Easter Science Lab was a blast!
